What makes Vital Health saunas different?
What is infrared?
Infrared (IR) is a form of electromagnetic energy that lies just beyond the red end of the visible light spectrum. Although it cannot be seen by the human eye, infrared energy is experienced as heat.
Infrared wavelengths fall between visible light and shorter than that of microwaves on the electromagnetic spectrum. The human body naturally emits infrared energy, and infrared heat can be absorbed by the body and surrounding objects.
What is an infrared sauna?
An infrared sauna heats its occupants using heaters that emit far infrared radiant heat. Unlike traditional Finnish saunas, infrared saunas do not rely on steam or extremely hot air to heat the body. Instead, infrared radiation warms the body more directly by transferring heat to the user rather than primarily heating the surrounding air.
This allows many people to enjoy the sauna experience at lower air temperatures than those typically found in traditional saunas.
Is infrared radiant heat safe?
Yes. Infrared radiant heat has been widely used in therapeutic and wellness applications. In an infrared sauna, heaters produce infrared energy similar to the warmth felt from sunlight, but without the ultraviolet rays associated with sun exposure.
The human body both emits and absorbs infrared energy. In an infrared sauna, this radiant heat is absorbed by the body and can warm the body more directly than traditional saunas, which primarily heat the surrounding air. This allows many users to enjoy the sauna experience at lower air temperatures while still feeling comfortably warm.
Many infrared sauna systems operate in a wavelength range around 8–10 microns, which is close to the range naturally emitted by the human body.

What is the difference between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna?
Traditional saunas, often called Finnish or rock saunas, heat the air inside the room using a stove or heater. Stones placed over the heat source become very hot and warm the surrounding air. Modern Finnish saunas typically use thermostatically controlled electric heaters to produce the high temperatures found inside the sauna.
In a traditional sauna, air temperatures commonly range from about 170°F to 190°F, and sometimes higher. The heated air warms the body and eventually causes sweating. Because of these high temperatures, sauna sessions are usually kept relatively short.
An infrared sauna works differently. Instead of primarily heating the air, infrared heaters emit infrared energy that warms the body more directly. Infrared saunas typically operate at lower air temperatures, usually between about 110°F and 140°F.
Because the air temperature is lower, many people find infrared saunas more comfortable and are able to enjoy longer sauna sessions compared with traditional saunas.

All Vital Health saunas, from our 1-person to 5-person models, are equipped with energy-efficient heating panels. The average power consumption typically ranges from about $5 to $10 per month when the sauna is used for approximately one hour per day, depending on local electricity rates.
Will a Vital Health sauna fit in an average sized room?
Yes. Vital Health saunas are designed for use in homes and professional practices. Our 1- and 2-person models fit comfortably in smaller spaces, while our 3-, 4-, and 5-person saunas are designed to fit in standard-size household rooms.
How do I install my Vital Health sauna and how long will it take?
Vital Health saunas are prefabricated and designed for quick assembly. Setup typically takes about 30–40 minutes and is best completed with two people.

What is the sauna warranty?
Vital Health Saunas offers a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser on the cabinet, heaters, and controls. The advanced multi-media components are covered for a period of one year from the original date of purchase.

How soon will my sauna order ship and how?
Your sauna order will ship directly from the Vital Health Saunas distribution warehouse within 48 hours after payment authorization for in-stock products.
Orders are shipped via an LTL common carrier. Each sauna is carefully packaged, and most sauna kits consist of two boxes. For additional protection during transit, the shipment is placed on a pallet, strapped, and shrink-wrapped.
Typical transit times range from 1 to 5 business days, depending on your location. You will receive tracking information as soon as your sauna has been shipped.
